Smart Enough to Trade Forex Online?You want to trade Forex online, but hesitate when it comes time to take action. When I ask people what’s stopping them from trading Forex currencies, they often reply that they don’t have the skills of a Forex advisor, and don’t feel smart enough to trade.At the very top of my list of Forex trading tips, is to use a demo account when you are in the learning stage of day trading Forex currency. This allows you to test all your theories, effectively learning by doing (but without the risk). While it’s true that a little education will go a long way, it’s more a case of needing to be “street smart” rather than book smart. By street smart, I mean having the nous to know which way the market is headed and staying away from any possible Forex scams. Many people are intimidated by the thought of trying to trade Forex online because of the unknown element involved in the market. Many people are familiar with the stock market and other types of securities, but when it comes to Forex, they are in the dark. While it might seem that you have to be really smart to trade Forex online, this is not the case. Here are a few things to consider about what it takes to be successful when you are trading the Forex market. Instead of brains, you are going to need several other things. One of the most important things for you to have is a burning desire and motivation to be successful in the Forex market. If you sincerely want to succeed in this market, there is a good chance that you will be able to. Many people listen to the hype and think that they will be able to easily make millions of dollars in a very short period of time. They try it out and when it doesn't happen, they start to get really discouraged. If you are going to be successful, you have to have a strong enough desire to overcome these setbacks and keep moving forward. If you are going to trade Forex online, you are going to have to have an appetite for risk. You are going to have to risk some of your money if you want to make anything. This is not one of those low risk investments like a savings bond or something along those lines. You are going to be putting up real money and you have to be able to live with the idea that your entire account could be gone at any point. You should only be willing to risk money that you can afford to lose in this market. Something else that you are going to need in order to trade Forex online is a game plan or trading strategy. You need to know how to trade the market and you need to develop a strategy that is going to walk you through the process. There are many trading strategies out there and you could never have enough time to learn them all. Instead, you need to find one strategy that works and get really good at that strategy. 
Once you have discovered a strategy that works for you, you need to be able to have the discipline to stick to it. Many people have problems sticking with one strategy and jump around from one thing to the next. Once you find something, you need to have what it takes to stick to the rules. At that point, you are going to need to use technical analysis in order to identify profitable trading opportunities. For example, you are going to need to be able to identify a candlestick pattern in your chart and determine which way the market is going to move.Overall, you do not have to be a genius in order to trade Forex online. However, if you have a burning desire to make it work and the discipline to stick to a strategy, you should be able to be successful.
