Simulated Forex Trading

Simulated Forex Trading is where you open an account and trade according to real market conditions, but without risking any real money. Most Forex brokers I’ve seen (certainly the online brokers) offer a free 30-day trial or demo account, which is the same thing.

It enables you to test your strategies in the market from a safe position. You can do as much trial and error of new technical analysis tools as you like!

It's important to approach simulated forex trading like you would if you were trading with real money. That is, respect your accounts and don't do anything too silly with your capital. Always trade with a stop-loss order, as this ensures you will only used a pre-defined amount of money should a trade turn against you. Even if it isn't real money, you still want to learn how to trade successfully, and the best way is to act as if the money were indeed real.

I always keep a simulated, or “demo” account open to test or practice my skills. It allows me to build confidence and learn my lessons from a safe vantage point!
