Learn to Day Trade Forex – Successfully and Quickly,
through Gap Trades

As you learn to day trade forex, and learn how to read forex charts, you’ll see that each forex currency trade will be different in value. One of the best currency trading tips I can give to people who are learning forex is to practice gap trades. Gap trades provide value in terms of reliability, which translates into money-making potential.

A gap in the market is created when the open of a new candle happens away from the close of the previous candle. The value is found because the market will (almost) always move to close the gap. The most common time for a gap to form in the market is 17.00 Sunday New York time. This is a perfect time for me.

This is how I trade a gap:
1. Open charts. Wait for the market to open and the assess where the gap forms.

2. Gaps won’t always from. This is the way of the market. Be patient. You'll develop this patience as you continue to learn to day trade forex.

3. Once you have found the gap, open your 15-minute chart.

4. If the gap occurred when a candle opened below the rest of the market, wait for a bullish signal to form.

5. If the gap occurred when a candle opened above the rest of the market, wait for a bearish signal to form.

6. Enter the trade, ensuring you trade with a stop and using no more than 3% of your account’s equity.

7. Place your limit (point where you exit the trade) close to the most recent high/low of the market recently.

8. These trades won’t yield you a lot of pips per trade, so it’s wise to take your profits where you can. Where you’ll make your money is in the frequency of these trades. I will trade a gap almost every week.

The first Forex Trading book I ever read was “Forex Trading Course ™” By Zack Kolundzic. It's a good overview of the Forex market and also included some really good trading strategies that made me more interested in learning Forex. Books are an excellent low-cost way to gather information when learning Forex. In particular, e-books provide lots of good tips and systems, without taking up a lot of space on your bookshelf.

Test Forex Trading Signal Software
I recommend trying a demo account first! If you are just starting out, you don’t want to risk any real money in the market just yet. The market is very volatile, which means there are great profits to be made by people who are educated about Forex.

Remember the process as you learn to day trade forex – what suits one person might not necessarily suit you. I prefer manual analysis, but others swear by trading robots.

Learning to Trade Forex - The Auto Way
Even if you decide that an automated system is best for your time and skill set, at least learn to read the charts that your automated system uses. You need to learn how to read charts when learning to trade Forex, just like you need to learn street signs and road markings when learning how to drive.

Knowledge is power. To get knowledge, you need to get educated. So this means education is power! There are so many books, products and courses out there, that there is no excuse not to get educated when you learn to day trade Forex.

Also, consider the stock market when weighing up your investment decisions.
