Forex Trading Books
Forex trading books are a low-cost way to learn about forex indicators and forex trading online.
Forex trading books online cover how to trade forex, at your own pace.Books generally tend to cover two main topics – trading strategy and trading mindset. Both are invaluable. You need the strategy to get results, and you need the mindset to stick to your strategy. It’s not as easy as it sounds – there are always temptations to enter the market against your strategy rules. Below is a list of books that I have read and recommend, as well as a list of books which are suitable for Forex Trading Beginners.
I recommend:
Reminiscences of a Stock Operator by Edwin LeFevre (1923):
This book is a really interesting read. It’s the biography of Jesse Livermore, one of the founding forefathers of technical analysis. Livermore rode the technical analysis rollercoaster for all his trading life. He enjoyed a lavish lifestyle and was bankrupted several times – each time getting back on his feet until his tragic and untimely death in 1940. Many pearls of wisdom are offered throughout this book – some of which I’ve quoted on this website. There is a question as to whether this book was really written by LeFevre, or by Jesse Livermore himself.Trading for a Living: Psychology, Tactics and Money Management by Dr Alexander Elder (1993): First half covers mindset, 2nd half covers strategy – technical analysis and money management. Not about Forex, but the ideas can be applied to Forex trading, especially the part about mindset. The absolute beginner may find this book a little tough-going, especially when getting into the technical strategy, but if you read up on technical analysis (or take a course!) beforehand, you can get some good value out of this book. Other books for Forex Trading Beginners: Technical Analysis from A to Z by Steven B Archelis (2001) Introduction to Technical Analysis by Martin J Pring (1998) Fibonacci Ratios with Pattern Recognition by Larry Pesavento (1997) Private Thoughts from a Traders Diary by Larry Pesavento (2002) The Candlestick Course by Steve Nison (2003) Understanding Fibonacci Numbers by Deward D Dobson (1984) Amazon and Overstock are good places to buy books online – they generally tend to be cheaper than the brick and mortar book shops and delivery is relatively quick.
