“Reminiscences of a Stock Operator” was written by Edwin LeFevre in the 1920’s. It centers on the main character, renowned trader ‘Larry Livingston’ (whose real-life name was Jesse Livermore) who traded the stock market during the 1920s.

The Wall Street Journal says that this book is a classic and that it should be read by anyone who is interested in the financial markets. The book has been read by thousands of people across the world since that point. Many traders swear by Livingston’s down-to-earth wisdom.

The ideas in this story are pretty interesting. It chronicles his time starting out in a small New England "bucket shop" and takes you all the way through his massive success in Wall Street. Over the years, Jesse Livermore made a fortune in the stock market and lost it as well. In fact, he made and lost several fortunes over the years.

This book provides some great insight into what stock traders should and should not do. From his experiences, you can hopefully learn a great deal and avoid some of the mistakes that he made.

Even though this book is about the stock market, it provides lessons that can be applied to ANY market. Even though the Forex market is different than the stock market, many of the same principles apply. By reading this book, you should become quite mentally prepared for trading, and well on your way to becoming a successful Forex trader in the future.
